ACE Mentor Program Helps Prepare High School Students for Careers in Design & Construction

The ACE Mentor Program is a not-for-profit organization that helps to prepare high school students for careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. Through mentoring by industry professionals, our mission to engage and enlighten high school students is achieved and supports their continued advancement in the industry.


ACE Mentor Program of Cleveland

Since its inception in 2008, the Cleveland affiliate of the ACE Mentor Program has partnered with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). As of 2021 the program has grown to include  12 CMSD teams as well as Warrensville Heights High School totaling nearly 200 students. 

Approximately 120 volunteers from more than 70 local firms from the design, engineering, and construction industries participate in the program.

Mentorship, Scholarships, and Continued Support

Since 2008, the ACE Mentor Program of Cleveland has awarded its participants over $1 million dollars in scholarships. Through these opportunities and through the hundreds of hours of mentoring they receive, the students gain a broad understanding of career possibilities, real-life and real-work experience, confidence in working with others, and enthusiasm for the part they can play in the industry.

Scholarships since 2008:

ACE Cleveland Scholarships
73% of the scholarship recipients have either graduated or are still enrolled and working on their degree
ACE Scholarships Awarded
68 students are currently enrolled at 22 different colleges and universities
56 students have completed a degree or certificate

2020 scholarships awarded:

$122,000 total scholarship dollars awarded to 14 students
ACE Cleveland and local company partnerships
4 colleges provided matching support totaling $25,000; ACE Mentor Cleveland provided $97,000, and ACE Mentor National provided $40,000

57% of scholarship recipients plan to study in an ACE field in College
